Unseasonably Hot Weather; Not Hot Ramen
Today is the 26th of December, and it was almost 70F. So unseasonably warm it was that I forewent my coat and boots and was sorely tempted to dig out some sandals from the bins I'd already packed away in storage. I opted instead for these flats (a present from my mom; worn sockless) paired with an old pair of cotton joggers from Lou and Grey and (what I thought was) a lightweight multi-colored crop sweater I got in Japan. And I was boiling in this outfit.
I knew it was going to be hot as soon as I got out of the car and stepped into the sunshine. Regretably, I didn't have time to go back home and change. B and I left our abode after two days of lounging about to hang out with humans and eat food that we didn't cook ourselves. At Nudo House, B got the Tantanmen which was (supposedly but not truly) spicy and was a much thicker broth over fat ramen noodles, naruto, egg, and char siu. I got a Vietnamese salad which had chicken, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, peanuts, cilantro, and a tangy fish sauce dressing. I also got an order of takoyaki because it's Christmas. And if you can't have two appetizers as your main during Christmas, then when else can you do that? (answer: whenever you want)
